A "transfer" is defined as a chauffeur driven service that takes a customer from a pre-booked pick up point to a pre-booked destination. The "transfer" is designed to allow the customer a stop along the way as well as giving the customer the benefits of the service – qualified tour guide, bottled water, CD's to customer preference, reading material.

A "disposal" is defined as a chauffeur driven service that is booked from a time to a time with a flexible itinerary for that time period. The "disposal" service is designed around flexibility for the customer whilst providing the benefits of the service - qualified tour guide, bottled water, CD's to customer preference, reading material.

• Are applicable when a reservation is made using Disposal rates, and the service either commences or terminates in either a different town to that which it started in or in a town that is outside of the main areas of Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban.

• Prices quoted will be honoured in all instances if the quote is signed and returned to Avis Chauffeur Drive within the contract period. Any quotes returned outside of the window will be subject to change without notice.

• Rates are calculated from time of pick up to time of drop off and the minimum charge will be as confirmed on the rental quote.

• Current legislation in the Republic of South Africa rules Chauffeur Drive services are exempt from VAT

• Any tour operator that has an authorised billing method approved by Avis Rent A Car worldwide.
• Recognised bank charge cards – American Express, Diners Card, Visa and MasterCard's are acceptable methods of payment for any additional charges that may be valid. Debit cards are NOT accepted.

• All chauffeurs are qualified English speak Tour Guides.
• All chauffeurs have drivers licence's valid for a minimum of five years or more.
• All chauffeurs are hand picked for their previous chauffeur driving and customer care experience.
• All chauffeurs are highly knowledgeable of the areas in which they operate.
• All chauffeurs are in possession of valid Public Driving Permits (required by law to transport passengers).
• All chauffeurs have completed an advanced driving course.
• All chauffeurs have completed anti hijack courses.

• All vehicles have valid Road Transportation permits for the provinces in which they operate
• All vehicles have valid Road Worthy Certificates

• All vehicles are less than one year and 60 000 kms old
• All vehicles are regularly maintained
• All vehicles are free of damage

• Provided the customer has a valid Avis recognised method of pay, there is no minimum rental age

• All services quoted include a vehicle and qualified chauffeur therefore it is not a requirement of Avis Chauffeur Drive to request a drivers licence from the customer.

• Fuel is included in all rates

• Our chauffeurs will meet our customers personally at airports, hotels, railway stations or any other requested destination, as agreed on our quotation.
• All chauffeurs carry a printed Avis greeting board with the customers name for easy identification
• Our chauffeurs will assist our customers with their luggage and open and close doors for them.

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this agreement, Avis may terminate this service at any time by notice to the customer. The obligations of the customer and the rights of Avis under this agreement shall continue in effect until the customer has complied with all his obligations.

• A valid recognised Avis method of payment is required prior to services being confirmed.
• No additional deposits are required from the customer prior to the services commencing. Any additional monies that may become due, will be collected on termination of the services.

• Avis Chauffeur Drive carries compulsory motor vehicle insurance and a comprehensive motor accident insurance policy, including passenger liability at a value of R219,000,000.00.
• Any individual claim has a cap of R2,500,000 per incident.
• The Company and co-operating agents act only in the capacity of agents for all passengers in all matters and in any form or mode of transportation. As such, we hold ourselves completely free of responsibility for any delays, loss or damage to luggage, jewellery, photographic equipment, illness or inconvenience to any person/s.

• Our Terms & Conditions of apply to services originating in and taking place within the borders of South Africa.
• For services in Southern Africa (Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique and Zambia) please contact the Avis Chauffeur Drive offices in Johannesburg and the request will be forwarded to the relevant parties.
• Outside of the borders of South Africa (excluding the Southern Africa countries mentioned) please contact Avis in the relevant country. Contact numbers for the Avis Reservation offices in these countries may be obtained from the local Avis Toll Free number.
